Life and AD&D

Group Life provides 24 hours coverage for death at any time or place. Amounts are available in increments of $1000 and range from $25,000 to $250,000. Pricing varies by age and medical underwriting may be a requirement depending on the number of employees in your firm and the amount of coverage requested.

Accidental Death doubles the amount of your life insurance benefit if the cause of death is due to an accident rather than an illness.

The dismemberment portion of the plan pays you a percentage of your AD&D insurance benefit due to the loss of a limb, your sight, paralysis etc.

Weekly Indemnity

Weekly indemnity or short term disability is a benefit designed to pay you a portion of your regular weekly income if you are absent from work for a brief period as a result of an illness or injury. The elimination period varies depending on the plan design you choose as does the duration of the benefit. If your injury is due to a work related accident, Workers Compensation would be first payor.

Long Term Disability

Long term disability is a benefit designed to pay you a portion of your regular monthly income if you are absent from work for a long period of time as a result of an illness or injury. The elimination period is 121 days and the length of coverage can be fro 2 years or to age 65 depending on the chosen plan design. In order to qualify for this benefit you must be totally disabled from your regular occupation. If the Canada Pension Plan becomes part of your monthly income, your disability benefit will be offset by the amount CPP pays.

Dependent Life

The dependant life benefit is an insurance benefit payable in the event that your spouse or child suffers an unfortunate accident or illness that results in death. A lump sum will be paid to the policyholder in hopes of assisting you financially during this difficult time.

Coverage is available with many options; here are two examples:

Spouse $5000, Child $2500

Spouse $10,000, Child $5000

Benefits extend to any place, any time, and from any cause.

Extended Health Care

We have a wide variety of extended health care products available to our clients. They vary in coverage and in cost and may include all or some of the following elements:

  • Paramedical services ie. Chiropractor, Massage Therapist, Naturapath etc.
  • Eyeglasses and laser eye surgery
  • Travel Coverage – out of country/province travel medical insurance
  • Trip Cancellation Coverage
  • Semi private hospitization
  • Private duty nursing
  • medical equipment

Dental

Our carriers provide many dental plans and there is sure to be one that fits the budget of all employers. Coverage varies by group size and includes everything you need to ensure your staff all wear healthy smiles. Your coverage can include:

  • oral and laboratory examinations
  • fluoride treatments and cleanings
  • basic restorative
  • endodontic and periodontic services
  • major dental
  • orthodontics

 

Business Overhead

As an owner, if you are disabled for more than 30 days, this benefit will pay up to $2,000 towards your rent, professional dues, business tax, salaries and much more. The benefit pays for up to two years and is available in conjunction with the Long Term Disability package for 1 to 4 person firms only.

Critical Illness

Life insurance grants an amount in the event of death. Disability insurance covers income if the participant becomes disabled. Neither one pays specific and often significant expenses caused by a serious illness or handicap. Critical Illness coverage does, and you should consider subscribing.
Will the house have to be modified? Will out-of-town health services be required? Must early retirement be considered? The Critical Illness benefit rapidly offers you a lump sum payment that you can use for your specific needs.

Critical illness is available for groups of all size. Coverage is available in amounts of $15,000 to $125,000.

Spousal Critical illness is also available.
